Steps to Install a Floor-Standing Tub Mixer & Tap

You can install a floor-mounted bathtub spout in one of these ways:

(A) Installation of an In-floor Box (concealed underfloor box) - recommended before installing flooring

(B) Flexi Hose Installation (above floor connection) - for situations where the first approach is impossible

The first method is the best because it offers a more low-profile floor plate.

Method A: Concealed box Installation / In-Floor

Ready? Now, unpack the mixer set. Make sure all parts are in place. Refer to your product manual. You will see the differences in the dashed boxes.

To avoid getting sprayed everywhere and getting wet, turn off the water supply valves. Let's get started!

1. Installation of the In-floor box

(a) First, make a recess in the floor for the installation of the in-floor boxes. It must be able to supply hot and cold water inputs.

(b) Place the in-floorbox at its top with your floor finish. Place the in-floor boxes so that they align with the water supply inputs. This will be your final spout position for installing the mixer. Temporarily removing the cover plate may be necessary to verify the location of the outlet ports. This is the area where you will insert the mixer's pipe. Mount concrete to masonry with masonry anchors

(c) A licensed plumber should connect the hot/cold water inputs to female inlets.

(d) Keep the cover plate and the level indicator on the box. This will protect the plumbing and allow you to check for level before installing your mixer.

2. Set up the Mixer

(a) A licensed plumber should connect the hot/cold water supply pipes securely to the inlets at the base of your mixer head. You must not reverse the connection between hot water supply H and cold water supply C. If necessary, you can use pipe tape to seal the threads.

(b) Slide the inner tube over the water supply lines and tighten it onto the mixer head.

(c) Now, slide the floor cover plate on top of the outer tube.

(d) Securely screw the brass base threaded collar onto the base of your outer tube.

3. Installation of the Mixer

span style="background color: transparent ;">(a") Remove the metal cover with level indicator from the in floor box. The 4 hex bolts must be removed. The level indicator's plastic protective disc in the centre must be removed.

(b) Use the supplied hex bolts to attach the metal cover from the in floor box to the underside brass threaded collar at base of the mixer tube.

(c) Take out the protective plastic inlet plug. The hot and cold inlet pipe should be inserted securely into the outlets of the infloor box.

(d) Attach the in-floor circular metal covering securely to the top of your in-floor box. To conceal the box, slide the floor cover plate to the side.

Before you finish, make sure to check for any leaks.

Method B: Flexi-Hose Installation

1. Installing the Floor Connections

Install hot and cold supply cables before installing. These should be protruded from the floor and connect to the female threaded connectors on the mixer’s input flexi hoses.

2. Set up the Mixer

(a) Connect hot and cold flexible hoses to the mixer head's base.

(b) Slide your outer tube over the Flexi Hoses and then attach it securely to the mixer head.

(c) Slide the high profile floor cover plate onto your outer tube.

(d) Attach the threaded bracket for the brass fixing feet to the base the outer tube.

3. Installation of the Mixer

(a) A licensed plumber should connect the hot/cold water inputs to connectors on the flexible hoses.

(b) Attach the bracket with fixings to the floor to place the spout in the desired position.

(c) Slide down the floor cover plate to hide the floor brackets and hose connections.

After you are done, check for leaks.

After Installation

After you have finished installing your floor-standing bathtub mixer, make sure to check the water flow as well as the operation of the tub filler and hand shower. Make sure the parts are tightly fitted together if there is a leak. If you have none, then you can take a hot bath.
